Welcome to the East Asian Studies Program at Ohio University.
China, Japan, and Korea comprise a vital region that stands at the forefront of dynamic changes in world politics, and the process of globalization is strengthening our ties with these countries. Our East Asian Studies students ready themselves through coursework, intense language study, and study abroad.
Our program draws from a range of courses with an East Asian focus offered in art, business, economics, film, geography, history, journalism, linguistics, political science and sociology. The interdisciplinary nature of the program is designed to provide you with a broad understanding of East Asia centered on language, society and culture. We encourage study abroad through accredited programs in Beijing, China, and in Nagoya and Tokyo, Japan. Faculty members help to ensure students receive a quality academic experience, whether for a quarter or a year.
Please use this web site to learn more about our faculty, course requirements and listings , study abroad, library resources , and more.
